The principles of a good reminder
- Be polite and precise: the name, the period, the amount.
- Remind early: a subscriber who forgot pays quickly, one reminded too late digs in.
- Escalate gradually: friendly reminder, firmer follow-up, final notice.
- Offer a solution: how and where to pay, and by when.
- Keep a record: date and content of every message sent.
Template 1: the friendly reminder (on the due date or the day after)
Hello [name], this is the [agency] agency. A quick reminder: the subscription for [period] ([amount] FCFA) is due. You can pay in cash or by Mobile Money. Thank you!
Template 2: the follow-up (a few days late)
Hello [name], we have not yet received the payment for [period] ([amount] FCFA). Could you pay by [date] to avoid an interruption of service? If you have already paid, let us know and we will check. Thank you.
Template 3: the final notice before disconnection
Hello [name], your subscription is still unpaid ([amount] FCFA). Without payment before [date], the service will be cut. It will be restored as soon as payment is received. Contact us if you have any difficulty.
What to avoid
- Threatening or humiliating messages, especially in a group.
- Reminders at all hours: choose reasonable times.
- Sending the same message to everyone without checking who has already paid.
- Forgetting to say thank you when the payment arrives.
Save time
With Cabléo, you see the list of those who have not renewed and how much they owe, then you send a reminder in one tap on WhatsApp. Automatic reminders (WhatsApp, SMS) are among the planned features, but they are not available yet.
