Why unpaid bills pile up unnoticed
In a notebook, a late subscriber is invisible: you have to reread pages to find them. Reminders happen when you think of them, so rarely, and never the same way from one collector to another.
As a result you discover the size of the problem too late, when it is hard to get the money back.
Define clearly what a late subscriber is
Set a written rule, the same for everyone, for example:
- Up to date: the current period is paid.
- Late: the due date has passed, the subscriber receives a reminder.
- To disconnect: the delay exceeds the length you have set, after a final notice.
The minimum follow-up to keep every week
- The list of late subscribers, sorted by amount owed.
- The list of those whose due date is coming in the next few days.
- The total collected during the week, compared with what you expected.
- Payment promises: who said they would pay, and on which day.
Remind at the right time, in the right tone
A polite reminder sent on the due date or just after settles many cases: the subscriber had simply forgotten. A firmer message comes next, then a final notice before disconnection. Our guide on WhatsApp follow-ups gives message templates ready to adapt.
Disconnect without creating conflict
An accepted disconnection is an announced disconnection. Always warn beforehand, note the date and the reason, and reconnect as soon as the payment arrives. Keeping a record of every disconnection and reconnection avoids arguments and tells you who has to be reconnected.
What a tool changes
With Cabléo, each subscriber has a status (up to date, late or to disconnect). You see who has not renewed and how much they owe, then you send a reminder in one tap on WhatsApp. Disconnections and reconnections are tracked, and a printable report lists the unpaid bills.
