Collectors: how to control the money collected in the field

Updated 4 November 2026 · 4 min read

Your collectors handle the agency’s money far from your eyes. The point is not to suspect them, but to set rules that protect everyone, them first, because a clear system prevents unfair accusations.

One zone, one collector

Assign precise zones to each collector. This lets you compare what they should collect (the subscribers in their zone) with what they actually collected.

Every payment recorded on the spot

A payment noted “from memory” in the evening is a payment that gets forgotten or rounded. Require the payment to be recorded, and the receipt given, when the subscriber pays.

The hand-in: a separate step

What the collector collected and what they handed in to the cash desk are two different figures. Record each hand-in with the date, the amount and the person who received it, and sign a hand-in slip.

Close every day

  1. The collector adds up their collections.
  2. They hand the money to the cashier or the owner.
  3. The hand-in is recorded and compared with the day’s collections.
  4. Any difference is noted and explained the same day.

Everyone sees only what concerns them

  • The collector sees their zones and their collections, not other people’s.
  • The cashier collects and prints, without being able to change what has been closed.
  • The owner sees everything.
  • The technician sees their faults and interventions.

With Cabléo

In Cabléo, each collector sees what they collected and you record their hand-ins. Rights are separated between owner, cashier, collector and technician, and a hand-in slip can be printed.

Cabléo gives each collector their own space and leaves you the overall view.
